Instructions for Applying Vinyl Graphics

Note:

Temperature must be between 50-90 degrees Fahrenheit before applying vinyl.

Definitions:

Transfer paper- thin semi-transparent paper. Backing paper- heavy paper

General Instructions

Clean the surface with glass cleaner and a dry cloth. Dirt and dust particles will cause vinyl graphics to bubble.

Mark guidelines with masking tape or washable marker in the area you wish to apply your graphics.

Applying vinyl graphics does not allow for any mistakes. Once the vinyl touches the surface, there is no removal without damage.

On the prepared, clean surface, position the graphics using your guidelines. Using masking tape, tape the top of the graphics face down. Rotate the graphics up, using the tape as a hinge. Carefully peel the transfer paper away from the graphic. When removing the transfer paper, always pull it slowly, back onto itself, at a 180-degree angle. Carefully rotate the graphics back down into position. Start in the center of the graphics and work your way out to the edges. Be sure you have gone over all areas. With backing paper still attached, firmly "squeegee" the graphics to force the bubbles out. A "Bondo" squeegee works best however, even a credit card will work.

Gently peel off the backing paper, if the graphics continue to adhere to the backing paper, again firmly press down on the backing paper causing the graphics to stick to the surface.

Do not pop the bubbles with a pin. This can cause the bubble to rip, and expand. Time and warmer temperatures should remove any bubbles.

Failure to follow all directions could result in damaged or creased graphics. Royal Mailbox Graphics are not responsible for damaged product if directions are not followed during installation.
